Choosing the 12 finalists was even more difficult than last year. The designers that came to the screenings not only possessed talent but vision as well and we sincerely hope everyone who did not make the cut this time around, will come back next year.
Those who were chosen will not only show their collections during LFDW, they will be mentored by international and local names in the fashion industry. Designers will also attend workshops created to help each of them hone their craft. Like last year, the week will end with The MTN LFDW Awards where a cash award of N4,000,000 will be given to the MTN British Council Young Designer of the Year.

The bar for other emerging African fashion industries is always set high by the talent coming out of Nigeria. If the emerging generation of designers is any indication of what’s to come, it looks like that trend will continue.
We will be announcing the finalists for the Young Creative Entrepreneur of the Year and the Young Model of the Year soon.
